Grieving Family Sues for $5 Million

WASHINGTON (CN) - A man with metastatic cancer died during a procedure to stabilize his affected spine, his family claims in a lawsuit filed in the District of Columbia Superior Court.

Catherine Pearson, personal representative in the estate of William Pearson sued MedStar Washington Hospital Center Inc., Kaiser Permanente Inc., and Al Hsi Liu MD for medical malpractice.
After a second dose of anesthesia was administered, plaintiff's husband jerked and had spasms, and then his heart stopped, the complaint states.
He leaves behind a wife and two children who depended on him for support.
Plaintiff is represented by Sherman Robinson of Simpsonville, Md.
