VENTURA, Calif. (CN) - A woman was seriously injured while visiting a Kaiser hospital, she alleges in a Ventura County Superior Court complaint.

Beverly Coffey was at a Kaiser hospital in Thousand Oaks, a city in Ventura County, on March 6, 2014. She says she sustained serious and permanent injuries when she tripped and fell inside the facility, all because hospital staff failed to properly maintain the premises.
Coffey says her injuries, which remain unspecified, have caused her  to incur medical expenses and be in pain.
Coffey is suing Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company for negligence.
Plaintiff is represented by Andrew Shapiro and David Bobrosky of Lewitt Hackman Shapiro Marshall & Harlan, in Encino, Calif.
