PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (CN) – Kaiser unnecessarily removed a man’s thyroid gland, he claims in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed in Riverside County Superior Court.
Attila Brizs sued Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Inc.; Southern California Permanente Medical Group and Bahram Mirza, M.D.
In his seven-page complaint, Brizs says on Jan. 6, 2011 he “underwent an un-necessary and un-justified thyroidectomy, thereby suffering unnecessary permanent injuries and complications . . . all of which required additional medical treatment; and plaintiff suffered great physical and emotional pain and suffering.”
Brizs seeks general and special damages, loss of earnings and earning capacity, prejudgment interest and costs of suit. He is represented by Bruce E. Krell of San Francisco. PSC1302645
