OAKLAND, Calif. (CN) - Kaiser doctors botched an epidural injection during a woman's labor and caused severe injury to spinal nerves, she claims in Alameda County Superior Court.
While she was in labor at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland, Brygida Raczka sustained injuries "when she was negligently administered an epidural injection, was not properly supervised, was not properly diagnosed, was not properly treated and thereby suffered severe physical injuries," including continuing numbness in her back, a weakened leg, and incontinence.
Raczka will need future medical care, has lost earnings and earning capacity, and has suffered emotional distress. The plaintiffs also request general damages and other compensatory damages, and Raczka's husband, Luis Solis, sues for loss of consortium.
The plaintiffs are suing in pro per.
